We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

• Order details you provide: name, phone number, email address, the cake details you request (size, flavour, date, message, allergy information) and any reference photo you upload.
• Reviews you choose to submit: your name, rating, comment and any photo.
• Technical data stored locally in your browser (see our Cookie Policy): your basket, saved order codes and language preference.

We do not take online payments and we do not collect card or bank details through this website.

3. Why we use your data and our lawful basis

• To prepare, confirm and fulfil your cake order, and to contact you about it - lawful basis: performance of a contract / steps prior to a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To send you order status updates by email - same basis as above.
• To display reviews you have submitted - lawful basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• To respond to enquiries and keep basic business records - lawful basis: our legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Allergy information you provide is used solely to prepare your order safely.

4. Who we share data with

We use trusted service providers ("data processors") to run the website and communicate with you:

• Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd) - secure database hosting for orders and reviews.
• Vercel - website hosting.
• Brevo (Sendinblue) - sending order confirmation and status emails.

We never sell your personal data. We only share it where necessary to fulfil your order or where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep order information only as long as needed to fulfil your order and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (generally up to 6 years for business records). Reviews are kept until you ask us to remove them.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at orders@inescake.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC), www.dataprotection.ie.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. The website is served over HTTPS and order data is stored in access-controlled databases.
